About Us

Back in 2004 I was given the opportunity to become a Hairdresser which I fell in love with from the start. Little did I know the rest would be such an adventuristic journey to becoming the Stylist I am today. Working with my clients, I love putting my skills to the test and give them that change, makeover or just an uplift that they may be needing. It’s even more rewarding when my client says, “do whatever you think” and that’s where my magic can transform their hair into a vibrant feel for them. I welcome any challenge with arms wide open and embrace change. I have travelled the world for training courses and boot camps to further my skillset; and then bring back that experience back to my friendly little salon. It is my commitment to upskill my colleagues and apprentices which I adore working alongside and seeing them develop from the foundations that I instilled in their trainings.

In 2005, I started my career as a hairdresser. I have always kept up to date with the latest styles and techniques with regular training courses, hair shows, and seminars. I then enjoy bringing this knowledge back to salon to share with the team. Short Hair cutting, up-styling and getting the total look with a beautiful colour have become just a few of my favourite things over my years of hairdressing. I am lucky enough to have a very broad range of clients whose day I get to make a little better and give them the confidence that comes with having great hair.

Phillip joined Image Hair Studio two years ago after moving to Mackay to be closer to family. He brings to the salon a wealth of experience in hairdressing. Phillips career spans more than thirty years of running the successful and industry recognised Phillip Wayne hairdressing in Sydney which specialised in colour, colour correction and high levels of customer service. He has taught TAFE, worked in runway shows and high fashion photo shoots; and trained at the Wella studios in Tokyo, London, Paris and Germany. He also worked for specialist hair company La Biosthetique as a colour technician. Phillip has a passion for perfection, and he excels at listening to what his clients want. He excels at precision cutting, colour and styling and giving exceptional customer service. 

I started hairdressing in 2014. I love it as much today as the first day. Hairdressing allows me to explore my creativity and feel truly accomplished. I love making clients feel better about themselves and making their day brighter by giving their hair a makeover—or even a little trim. I love it all. 

But if its bright and exciting hair from purple to green and any rainbow in between I'm your hairdresser and I'm here ready and excited to make your hair dreams come true.

I love seeing hair transformed into something colourful and amazing; and a good before and after to see the confidence it gives our clients.

I am a very creative person—drawing and painting is another passion of mine! I am eager to incorporate the skills I have in this area into my hairdressing career.

Along with the other apprentices at Image Hair Studio, I attend Mackay CQU as well as receive constant in-salon training. So the skills I perform in our salon have had hours of training behind them so you can trust what you get out of me will be quality!

I am truly enjoying my hairdressing journey with Image Hair Studio working with a great team of passionate hairdressers who push me to do better each day. I love seeing the colours and how the client's hair can be transformed into something so amazing. Also just watching clients love what we do for them and take pride in my part in looking after them. I can’t wait to be able to learn more and move forward in my apprenticeship.
